Gotta Get Up is a new podcast for New York Liberty fans. Host Erica L. Ayala will provide game previews, recaps, and more every week.

A new WNBA season is upon us, and that means another chance at a title for an original franchise, the New York Liberty. Of the eight remaining founding teams, the Liberty are the only ones without at least one title.

Will that end this year?

Black Rosie Media founder Erica L. Ayala talks about the "new" New York Liberty with The Local W Head of WNBA Content, Brian Fleuratin, on the latest episode of Gotta Get Up - A Podcast for New York Liberty fans.

Brian has been writing about New York basketball for the last 10 years. The Brooklyn-native shares when he fell in love with basketball, why he enjoys writing, and what he expects to see from the "new" New York Liberty.

Topics covered in this episode include:

  • Recapping the 80-64 loss against the Washington Mystics

  • What improvements were made in the 90-73 win against the Indiana Fever

  • Who is the sleeper pick for the best off-season acquisition?

  • Bittersweet homecoming for Rebecca Allen on Saturday?

  • Can the Liberty go all the way?

New addition to the Liberty Breanna Stewart dropped 45 points in her first-ever home game, setting a new career high and franchise record for points in a single game.

I cannot wait to share my passion for New York Liberty basketball with all of you! Please consider subscribing to our YouTube page or to the show on your favorite podcast platform. You should also follow The Local W for your fix of women's sports in the Tri-State area. Both the Liberty and Gotham FC picked up convincing wins Sunday.

I'm excited to cover our first full WNBA season and to amplify Black women and melanated creators doing amazing work in the women's basketball space.

Are you a New York Liberty or WNBA fan? Send us your questions about the "new" New York Liberty and how they'll finish in 2023.

Black Rosie Media will also host a weekly WNBA show on Thursdays on our YouTube Channel. We will also continue to host watch parties on Playback, a platform that allows our audience to watch the game together in real-time, bring guests onto a live stage to offer in-game commentary, an active chat function, and more. Our next playback watch party will be this Saturday as the Liberty host the Connecticut Sun.
